The Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (APJAKTU) (previously known as the Uttar Pradesh Technical University - UPTU) has been given the responsibility of conducting the state level entrance examination (UPSEE) for admission to various programs UG & PG programs in engineering, pharmacy, hotel management etc. offered by various institutes affiliated with APJAKTU/ UPTU and other universities of UP.

The state government has created the Central Admission Board (CAB) under the Chairmanship of the VC of APJAKTU, Lucknow and CAB supervises the administration of UPSEE. You're eligible to appear for UPSEE only if you've cleared the qualifying exam from a UP-based institute or if your parents' domicile is UP.

Courses through UPSEE 2015

The entrance examination is conducted for admission to the following courses that are offered by various APJAKTU-affiliated institutes and other UP universities:

• Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) Ag. Engg. - 4 years
• B.Tech. Engineering - 4 years
• Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT) - 4 years
• Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.) - 4 years
• Bachelor of Fashion and Apparel Design (BFAD) - 4 years
• Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) - 5 years
• Master of Computer Applications (MCA) - 3 years
• Master of Business Administration (MBA) - 2 years
• Master in Applied Management (MAM) 5-year integrated degree

Apart from these, latery entry (i.e. admission to 2nd year) for the following courses takes place through UPSEE: B.Tech, B.Pharm, MCA

UPSEE 2015 Eligibility criteria

Eligibility for the first year of courses is listed below:

• B.Tech./B.Pharm.: Candidates must have passed the intermediate examination of the U.P. Board, 10+2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized board/university. A minimum of 45 percent (40 percent for SC/ST) marks in the total of required subject combination (two compulsory and one optional) and minimum 40 percent (35 percent for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes) marks in each compulsory and optional subject are necessary.

• BHMCT or BFAD: Candidates must have passed the intermediate examination of the U.P. Board, 10+2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized board/university, securing a minimum of 45 percent (40 percent for SC/ST) marks in aggregate.

• B.Arch.: A candidate must have passed the intermediate examination of the U.P. Board, 10+ 2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized board/university; securing (i) minimum 50 percent marks in aggregate and (ii) minimum 40 percent (35 percent for SC/ST) marks in each compulsory and optional subject. A candidate possessing a three-year Diploma in Architecture (10+3) recognized by the central/state government, is also eligible for admission to the first year of B.Arch. only, provided the candidate has passed the diploma examination with a minimum of 50 percent marks in aggregate. Such candidates will have to appear in the entrance examination for the first year of the B.Arch. Paper.

• All candidates who are eligible for the admission in B.Tech. courses are also eligible for B.Tech. (Agriculture Engineering).
  
  
• MBA/MCA: For admission to courses offered by UPTU-affiliated colleges, candidates should have passed a bachelor's degree courses of at least three years from a recognized Indian university or equivalent with at least 50 percent minimum aggregate marks (45 for SC/ST). For MCA, you should have passed Mathematics at the 10+2 or graduate level. There might be slight variations in the criteria for admission to the courses offered by other universities. • MAM: Pass 10+2/ equivalent exam with at least 45 percent (40 percent for SC/ ST)

UPSEE 2015 Exam pattern

• The UPSEE will be conducted for 12 papers with objective type questions except for the Drawing Aptitude Test.
• Choose a paper(s) according to the subject you're applying for
• Objective type questions have four marks for each correct response.
• More than one answer marked will be scored as incorrect.
• Answers are to be marked using ball point pen (black/blue) only.
• All objective type questions are required to be answered on OMR answer sheets.
• There is no negative marking in this test.
• Question paper will be in Hindi and English
