UPPGMET - PG Medical Entrance Test
The Uttar Pradesh Post Graduate Medical Entrance Test (UPPGMET) will be held on 16 & 23 January, 2016 for admission to the 2016 - 2017 academic session of post graduate medical programs in current member colleges. The test is held by the U.P. Unaided Medical Colleges Welfare Assocation (UPUMCWA). Available courses are the Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), Master of Surgery (M.S.) and Postgraduate Diploma.

Registration slips for the test will be available for download from 15 March, 2014. When you submit the registration slip, the admit card will be given.
All the details regarding your examination centre, examination time, roll number etc. for UPPGMET 2014 will be available for download at the same time.
If you are unable to download the registration slip, call +91-9897600270. You may also arrive at the exam centre early on test day between 9 a.m. and 12 noon to get the registration slip if you had technical problems downloading it. A Rs. 100 fee is required for the duplicate admit card, in addition to other necessary documents for identification.
You may fill out the application form online or download it. Alternatively, the application form and brochure are available from cash counters at participating colleges with a Rs.3,500 payment. The completed form and necessary documents must be sent by speed post to "The Coordinator UPPGMET-2016, Ist Floor, Anand Ashram Complex, Rampur Garden, Bareilly - 243 001" with a demand draft of Rs.3,500 in favor of UPUMCWA, payable at Bareilly. The form should reach the coordinator by 4 January, 2016.
To be eligible to appear for the exam, you must have successfully completed an MBBS from a program recognized by the Medical Council of India. Your internship should be completed before 1 April, 2016. Additionally, you should be registered with the Medical Council of India/State Medical Council.
Exam pattern & syllabus
The exam will be a computer-based test. Questions in the UPPGMET are usually at the MBBS level, and of the objective multiple choice type. The paper will be for a maximum of 250 marks. The test will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. You must arrive at the test centre by 9 a.m.
The syllabus for UPPGMET 2014 will be the same as that covered in the MBBS courses The approximate number of questions for each subject are listed below:
Community Medicine: 12
Ear, Nose and Throat: 12
Forensic Medicine: 8
Obstetrics and Gynaecology: 15
TB and Respiratory Disease: 4
Total number of questions: 250
For each wrong answer, 1/4 mark will be deducted. All questions are objective type multiple choice.
The minimum cut-off marks for UPPGMET 2014 will be 50 percent (40 percent for Schedule Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes or SC/ST/OBC category candidates). Marks on the exam determine merit.
By the 1st week of January, 2016, a mock test would be uploaded on the official website of UPUMCWA. You can go through that test to get comfortable with the pattern of this computer-based test.
