The Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanpur is one of the premier institutions in the country for providing agricultural training at Under Graduate and Postgraduate level and conducting research in the frontier areas of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies. This university was started in 1893 as a small school for providing training to revenue officers and developed into Government Agriculture College in 1906.
The college has changed its name to UP Institute of Agricultural Sciences in 1969 and transformed into Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology in 1975 with the merger of U.P. College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Mathura into it.
The university now enjoys its jurisdiction over 28 districts of 6 divisions of Uttar Pradesh state. The location of university is about 8 Km North-West of Kanpur Central railway/Bus Station. The University is well connected by road, the mode of conveyance being rickshaw/auto- rickshaw and taxi.
The University has setup a full-fledged Directorate of Placement. The University imparts job oriented professional education in the fields of Agriculture, Forestry, Home Science and Agricultural Engineering.
