Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University

King George Medical College (KGMC) in Lucknow was established in the year 1911, has been a front runner among medical education institutions in the country By an act passed by the Government of Uttar Pradesh on the 16th September 2002, the college was transferred under a new university, called the Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University (CSMMU). The University is a member of The Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The Institution is entrusted with the task of disseminating advance knowledge in biomedical sciences and establishing itself as a centre of excellence in tertiary level health care in the state.

The University campus spreads over an area of 100,000 sq metres approximately. It is situated about 5 km from Charbagh Railway Station and is well connected to all parts of the city by public transport systems such as bus, tempo and taxi.
