The UPCPMT (Uttar Pradesh Combined Pre Medical Test) conducted for admission into under graduate medical programs available in the medical colleges of Uttar Pradesh will no longer take place from 2013 onwards. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) has replaced the UPCPMT from 2013 onwards.

UPCPMT 2012 – Uttar Pradesh Combined Pre Medical Test conducted for admission into under graduate medical programs available in the medical colleges of Uttar Pradesh.

The governing authority for the UPCPMT 2012 is Directorate General of Medical Education and Training Uttar Pradesh. However this Directorate does not conduct the CPMT 2012 Examination on its own; and, it gives the responsibility on any of the medical college that comes under its purview for conduct of Combined Pre Medical Test (CPMT) 2012.

Candidates who qualify in the CPMT 2012 written examination are required to appear in counseling session. The Directorate General of Medical Education and Training Uttar Pradesh holds the entire responsibly of conducting the counseling and allotment of seats etc.

Candidates who appear and secure a rank in UPCPMT 2012 are offered admission into one of the following programs offered at Medical Colleges in Uttar Pradesh as per the candidate’s choice.

• MBBS - Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery
• BDS - Bachelor of Dental Surgery
• BHMS - Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery
• BAMS - Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery
• BUMS - Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery

Passing CPMT 2012 does not guarantee admission, however candidates require fulfilling the terms and conditions as laid by the admission authority for a particular program or college.

UPCPMT 2012 Eligibility Criteria

Residency Requirement: Combined Pre Medical Test (CPMT) 2012 is a state level examination. Candidates, who are native of Uttar Pradesh, are eligible to apply. However, other state candidates may also apply, given they should fulfill the domicile criteria as laid by the government of Uttar Pradesh

Age : Candidate must be 17 years of age in the year in which he / she want to appear in Combined Pre Medical Test (CPMT) 2012.

Educational Qualification For Appearing in UPCPMT 2012 : The candidate must have passed intermediate science (Biology Group) or equivalent examination.

UPCPMT 2012 Exam Pattern

The admission of the candidates depends upon their score in the entrance test. The test will consist of two papers. Two hours are given for completing each paper. The first paper includes hundred questions from the subjects of Botany and Zoology. The second paper contains hundred questions from Physics and Chemistry. Obviously level of question is bit high given the competitiveness of UPCPMT 2012.

Those who qualified in the first two papers have to take a third paper. It is for evaluating the candidates’ Hindi language usage. The test is of objective type format. Each question has four options.The candidates who clear the tests will be selected for the counseling session.The Exam Pattern For UP Combined Pre-Medical Test (UPCPMT 2012) is given below :
