The U.P. Jagadguru Rambhadracharya Handicapped University was established to offer higher education and higher professional education exclusively to disabled people in India. Disabled people who join this university receive free education, hostel, mess facility etc. The university has the objective to transform students with disabilities into independent professionals and produce capable human resources who can take care for disabled population. All the facilities at the campus, such as classrooms, hostel, sports facilities and laboratory etc. are very disabled-friendly.

The university offers perfect environment to disabled persons to come over their disabilities and concentrate on studies so as to excel in their lives. The placement cell of university assists students in getting job at the end of the course work. Some special features of university include:
All learners require gaining knowledge of Sanskrit and basic knowledge of computers.
Free tuition facility is provided however for professional courses, a nominal fee is charged.
Free boarding facility is provided to all students.
Sports facilities are offered to students affected with any type of disability.
Study materials/lectures are provided in Braille script for visually impaired and in video mode for hearing impaired students.
